The Stena Metall Group is conducting a number of research and development projects with the goal of finding commercially sustainable and environmentally safe solutions in recycling and environmental services.
The projects are usually conducted collaboratively with partners from government agencies, the business sector, and colleges and universities. A number of Group companies are engaged in R&D work. Many new ideas and innovations are channeled through the company Stena Miljöteknik. Enhancements and innovations are being achieved in processing technologies, collection systems and other logistical solutions, for example.

Recycling of glass fiber reinforced plastics
The EU Commission is founding a project that aims to find a solution for recycling glass fiber reinforced plastics that will reduce the amount of plastic waste ending up on landfills. Stena is participating together with several organizations and universities.
