Mediclean sharps containers are now available in Sweden at the pharmacy chain Apoteket. The yellow, 0.2 liter containers, which are being distributed free of charge to Apoteket’s customers, fill two purposes. First, they make it easier for customers to get rid of sticks and sharps. And secondly, they ensure safe handling of biohazards. There is also no charge to return filled containers to Apoteket.
The containers, which are supplied by Stena Miljö, are specially designed for disposing of sharps and sticks, which cannot be removed once they are dropped in.
Stena Miljö and Apoteket have been cooperating since the summer of 2003.
