Stena Gotthard acquires Wennbergs Åkeri
Stena Gotthard has acquired Wennbergs Åkeri AB in Värnamo as of April 1. The acquisition is an element in Stena Gotthard, Stena Scanpaper and Stena Miljö’s joint efforts to branch out to the area of “Industrial Wastes.”
Wennbergs Åkeri specializes in waste management: service, collection, sorting and processing. Founded in 1900 and built on a strong reputation, Wennbergs has been cooperating with several Stena companies for some time.
The acquisition serves as a breakthrough in the new business area “Industrial Wastes” in southern Sweden, providing Stena Gotthard with access to Wennberg’s extensive experience and loyal customer base. The acquisition also facilitates efficient support for Stena Gotthard’s full-service offerings to local customers of its ten branches in the provinces of Småland and Blekinge.
Wennbergs has a modern, well-designed, 80,000 sq. m. treatment facility, which will provide an excellent base as a sorting and intermediate storage station to service incineration plants and other customers in a large part of southern Sverige.
