Stena Metall acquires Reci Industri
Stena Metall AB acquires Reci Industri AB, one of Sweden’s leading companies in hazardous waste management with 120 employees. The acquisition strengthens Stena’s position as the leading recycling company in the Nordic countries.
Stena Metall AB has acquired Reci Industri AB from Scancem Energy and Recovery AB, part of the Heidelberg Cement Group. Reci Industri AB is one of Sweden’s leading players in the management of hazardous waste and other residual products. The company has about 120 employees.

Reci Industri has a nation-wide organization with buffer stocks and treatment facilities located mainly in Göteborg, Halmstad, Stenungsund, Örebro, Stockholm and Kalmar.

The acquisition marks the start of a long-term partnership between the Stena Metall Group and the Heidelberg Cement Group for the supply of alternative fuel and raw materials used in cement and Leca production.

”This acquisition strengthens our prospects for fulfilling customer needs in terms of recycling and environmental services,” says Anders Jansson, CEO of Stena Metall.

”Reci’s operations are outside the scope of Heidelberg Cement’s core business, which is cement, concrete and aggregate. This deal gives Reci an owner with closer ties to its business operations,” says Lennart Rådberg, Heidelberg Cement Sverige. ”It is important to us that we can secure access to alternative fuel at our cement and Leca factories. The agreement we now enter with Stena Metall is a crucial component in this process.”

The acquisition is contingent to approval from the Swedish Competition Authority.
