Our story started with a local scrap shop in Gothenburg. The year was 1939 and our founder Sten Allan Olsson was just 23 years old. What others saw as waste he saw as a business opportunity. This insight sparked the beginning of an exciting journey towards the business sphere that the Stena Metall Group is part of today – with 20,000 employees and operations all around the world. Sten Allan believed that every employee should feel responsible for his/her own contribution. His philosophy is still an important part of our culture. We, who work here today feel that we play an important role in the continuous development of our business.
