Frequently asked questions

In which countries do you recruit Trainees?

For 2024 we will recruit candidates in the following countries: Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Italy. The recruitment process will start the 25th of March, except for Poland where the application opens the 8th of April.

How many candidates are hired in total?

The number may vary each year, but for 2024 we aim to recruit approximately 13 Trainees.

What kind of contract will I have?

From the very first day you join, you will have a permanent full-time employment within Stena Metall Group.

What does Care for Potential mean?

At Stena, we care for resources and our people are the key to our success. In the trainee program we will focus on your potential and your individual development journey to make sure you grow together with the company.

In which company within the Stena Metall Group will I be employed?

Depending on your profile and the company needs, you will be employed where you, based on your competencies and skills, have the best possibility to contribute and create most value.

What is the compensation?

You will receive a competitive salary according to recent market data of each country.

Is travelling included in the program?

In the program you visit companies in several of the different countries where we operate. You’ll be expected to be able to travel both nationally and internationally for several days in a row.

What are the chances of getting a job after the program?

At the end of the 10-month program we aim to offer all our trainees interesting roles that suit their individual competencies, providing they have performed well during the Trainee program. 

Can I apply to the Trainee Program even if I am not living in the hiring country?

You need to have either a citizenship or a residence permit + work permit in the hiring country. Please note that for the 2024 program, fluency in both English and local language is a requirement.

Where will I have my residence?

To participate in the 2024 Trainee Program, you need to live, or be able to reside in one of following cities (accommodation will be arranged by the trainee):
Sweden: Gothenburg, Halmstad, Skellefteå, Örebro, Västerås or Linköping
Denmark: Brondby
Poland: Warsaw, Poznán, Katowice, Gdynia
Italy: Verona or Milano  

Will the program be virtual or on site?

The 2024 Program is designed to be both a digital and an on the job-experience, combining virtual learning activities with practical hands-on projects. Rotation is part of the program.
