Competitive strength in diversity

“I think diversity is very important. If we are to remain competitive in the future, we must reflect the society we live in. I try to encourage women to apply for these positions because I think it's important that we have a mix of both men and women at our facilities, which creates a better workplace,” says Magnus Bergsman.

At Stena Recycling's production facilities, waste is received, sorted, and processed. It is then sent on to be converted into raw materials used in the manufacture of new products, among other things. The working environment out on the yard is lively, with trucks, crane trucks, and other machines in operation.

Lina Svahn works in production, but has a background in accounting.

“I used to work as an accountant, but I felt that it wasn't really right for me because it was a sedentary job. Now I feel much better in my current role. You get to be outside and be active. You meet lots of people. Every day is different and there's always something going on.”

Everyone should feel included in the group

Lina Svahn agrees that it is very important to work with diversity and inclusion.

“It is important that everyone feels included in the group, that all individuals are able to develop their specialties and that we highlight them. We are a close-knit group with an open atmosphere. And we have so much fun together too.”
