The financial year 2021/2022 was a strong year for the Stena Metall Group, despite turbulent and volatile markets. Profit before tax is 2,470 million, an increase from SEK 1,947 million. The Group’s net sales amount to SEK 43,509 million, an increase of 54,3 percent compared to the previous financial year.
The past financial year has been characterized by uncertainties in the world. All of Stena Metall’s businesses have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and rising inflation. The financial year 2021/2022 was still a strong year for the Stena Metall Group which included many new collaboration projects with several customers and partners in developing new, sustainable circular businesses. Major investments in the recycling of plastic, batteries, and electronics were also made.
“Stena Metall’s operating model, with delegated business acumen, empowers the organization to make decisions close to customers and operations where we can create value. This has worked very well during this volatile period. We have been able to quickly adapt to the changing market environment. Accordingly, we have once again been able to deliver a strong result as we reported an EBITDA of SEK 3,644 million,” says Kristofer Sundsgård, President and CEO, Stena Metall Group.
The Stena Metall Group's annual reports for 2021/2022 are now published. The financial year is presented in two parts: an Annual Report and an Annual Review & Sustainability Report. An online version is also available.
The Annual Review highlights examples of value-creating projects showing how Stena Metall, together with partners, creates innovative and exciting circular solutions for the benefit of everyone involved – and for society at large. Read more about how Stena Metall is driving the circular economy forward together with Polestar, how the e-loop is closed together with Boliden, or how Stena Metall is unlocking hidden values in e-waste together with Norsirk. The Annual Review also offers an insight into the different business areas and their highlights from the past financial year.
In the Sustainability Report, Stena Metall’s strategic sustainability work is presented, which is divided into four broad sustainability areas: value creation, resource efficiency, people & culture and responsible relationships.
