Care for Potential is a trainee program that offers you a unique chance to unlock your potential, advance your career, and make a meaningful contribution. Through hands-on projects, structured learning, and genuine responsibility, we empower you to transform your potential into lasting impact.

The program brings together trainees from Sweden, Finland, Poland, Italy, and Norway. As a trainee, you will gain a broad understanding of Stena Metall as a group, including our business, culture, and ways of working.

We are looking for ambitious individuals who are eager to learn beyond the classroom. You are curious, reflective, and driven, with the ability to listen, understand context, and contribute thoughtfully. This program is first and foremost a learning journey, what matters most is your willingness, drive and ability to learn.

Over the course of the 10-month program, you will develop both professionally and personally through hands-on experience, real business challenges, and close collaboration across the organisation. You will be supported by a dedicated manager, gain access to a strong internal and external network, and take part in structured learning activities designed to accelerate your growth and help you build a long-term career within Stena Metall.

By keeping resources in use in the economy, Stena Recycling contributes to the transition to a circular economy across the whole value chain.

Stena Aluminium

Stena Aluminium primarily serves foundries in Northern Europe. Most of the alloys produced are used for components in the automotive and engineering industries. They offer liquid aluminium which reduces customers’ energy consumption and saves both time and money.

Stena Stål

Stena Stål supports customers, primarily in Sweden, in strengthening their product offerings through material expertise, an extensive product range, and a customer-focused approach. With high availability and service levels, They supply steel and aluminium products to construction and industrial companies.

Stena Oil

As a leading provider of marine fuels in Scandinavia, Stena Oil offers full-service marine fuel solutions for shipping companies operating in Skagerrak, Kattegat, the Baltic Sea, and the North Sea. Skilled in trading and operations teams, along with modern, long-term chartered bunker tankers and terminal operations, ensure efficient deliveries around the clock.

Stena Confidential

Stena Confidential provides secure and traceable services for the collection, destruction, and data erasure of confidential materials such as documents, IT equipment, electronic storage media, and products requiring safe disposal. By combining security expertise with efficient logistics and digital traceability.

The program is aimed at recent graduates or professionals at the beginning of their careers with a relevant academic background. We are looking for curious and engaged individuals who share our values, are eager to drive results, and want to make a meaningful contribution to both our business and society.

The trainee program typically runs for approximately 18–24 months and includes rotations, development activities, training sessions, and joint trainee projects. For the upcoming cycle, the program will run for 10 months, from September 2026 to June 2027.

Yes. Care for Potential is a permanent employment from day one, with the trainee program forming part of your structured onboarding and development within the Stena Metall Group.

The Stena Metall Group consists of eight companies operating in different industries. During the program, you will gain insight into several parts of the organisation and how the group works together. Participants will be employed and actively work in one of the companies within the group.

Yes. As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to travel internationally to our various sites, exchange experiences, and build a valuable professional network across borders.

Many former trainees continue their careers within the group in various roles and companies. The program is intended as a long-term investment in your development, with future roles shaped by both business needs and your interests.
